R. Patrick Rainey, Ph.D., DABT

Dr. Rainey is an analytical chemist, toxicologist, and clinical scientist with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, diagnostics, and laboratory services. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Scientific Officer for a national diagnostic services enterprise, where he led strategic operations, scientific initiatives, and service delivery across the country for nearly two decades.

Early in his career, Dr. Rainey was a pioneer in the design and implementation of advanced clinical testing laboratories within physician practices, hospitals, and health systems. His work helped establish practical models for integrating high-quality laboratory capabilities directly into clinical environments.

Through this work, he helps client-partners build practical, compliant testing models that improve patient care, support provider decision-making, and strengthen practice performance.

Co-Founder

Petra Wright, M.S.

Petra is a Master’s-level chemist who previously served as Director of Laboratory Operations for a national diagnostics services enterprise supporting hundreds of laboratories across the country over more than a decade. In this role, she led multi-site operations, personnel training, and technical oversight at scale.

Her expertise includes LC-MS data review and report certification, method application development, validation protocol and SOP drafting, and regulatory compliance documentation. Through this work, she has helped laboratories operate efficiently, accurately, and within established quality and compliance standards.

Petra works closely with scientific and operational teams to maintain high-performing, audit-ready environments. She is committed to delivering accurate, high-quality, and compliant patient results that providers can rely on to support informed decision-making and quality patient care.

Aaron Burnette

Aaron is a healthcare business development leader with nearly 12 years of experience in laboratory services, physician office laboratory (POL) operations, and practice-level revenue optimization. As Strategic Advisor at Right Size Laboratories, he leads strategic growth initiatives focused on delivering compliant, scalable, and financially impactful lab solutions to providers nationwide.

Aaron has a proven track record of building and expanding lab programs, particularly in high-complexity toxicology and in-office diagnostic models. He works closely with physician groups to transition from traditional reference lab models to more efficient in-house or hybrid solutions that improve turnaround times and unlock new revenue streams.

His approach is consultative and data-driven, with deep experience in financial modeling, payer strategy, LIS integration, and operational implementation. Aaron is well-versed in navigating CLIA requirements, billing workflows, and compliance considerations to ensure long-term program success.
